Studio Lights!! MountDog Softbox Lighting Kit

I just received actual studio lights and they are so helpful!! I've never used studio lights before.  They even came with a remote for each light (it's a set of two) but I can use one remote to RULE THEM ALL!  I am really enjoying them.  They even go from warm to cold spectrum, and you can dim them down in steps or with three settings from dim to full brightness. 

They came with soft boxes and stands, so I'm all set!  I am really quite happy with how low budget they are, how easy they were to set up and I'm happy with how well they work!  I do recommend them.  I found out about them through Think Media's YouTube video on studio lighting.  I'll link their video below.

This image is at their lowest setting and it is almost noon here so it is very bright outside.  This was the first time I had them on and I got very excited and happy.  I was playing around with the remote and got excited about how great they are!  I bought this set for $84 at regular price, on Amazon.  I'll add a link below. 

My room actually has two huge windows with one south facing and one facing west.  I'm in the Northern hemisphere which means that my windows face directly into the sun's path all day and includes the sunset.  It's actually super nice! 

Now with a $1 frosted shower curtain I could have managed using the sun for lighting, but the problems with that include the weather being unpredictable and can't be counted on to be on my schedule. Also, I'd have to climb over my desk and set up frosted curtains, and hope the weather doesn't change while filming..... so, it is artificial lighting to the rescue!!
